How to Access E-Journals and Databases from Off-Campus: Reading e-books and e-journals

1. Many of the items listed as "e-books" or "e-journals" on the search results screen can be read online from off-campus. (Some require a special ID and password, while others do not allow remote access.)

2. Click on the title and the "View fulltext" link on the detail screen to display the single sign-on screen.
 

You can also display only e-books and e-journals by narrowing the search results by "Contents Type" on the left side of the search results screen.

I signed in but can't access it?

If you are unable to access e-books and e-journals from off-campus, the following are possible causes.

• You must access through the library website. If you access the site from a link already registered in your browser favorites or by manually launching a new and different browser, you are not authenticated for remote access.
   
• May be an e-book or e-journal that is not subscribed to by Kyushu University in the first place. Check the e-journal list "Cute.E-Journals" to see if it is available at Kyushu University.
   
• Publishers may not allow off-campus access.
  Search for platforms that offer e-books or e-journals (such as EBSCO eBook Collection and KinoDen) on the "Databases" of the library website and see if there are icons for "Off campus" or "GakuNin".
   
• If you are still unsure, please contact us using the "INQUIRY FORM".

Integration with reference management tools

Some reference management tools, such as Mendeley and EndNote, offer article PDF collection capabilities.
If there is a screen for proxy server URL setting, let's register the following URL. You will be able to collect PDF documents from off-campus.
